MAGA-MADERA CHAPTER

In the spring of 1996, golf aficionados Fernando Rivera, Luis Ortiz, Ernie Flores, Robert Arballo and Fred Contreras decided to start a MAGA Chapter in Madera. Joe Calistro and Victoria Acosta from Central Council were contacted and the process to form a Maga chapter in Madera was started.
Friends and relatives were invited to a golf tournament that was held at Madera Municipal Golf Course for the purpose of creating a Maga Chapter. Joe Calistro gave a historical presentation of Maga to prospective Madera chapter members. Victoria Acosta answered questions and explained the procedure. After some discussion, the first board was elected and Fernando Rivera became President and Fred Contreras, Secretary.
In July 1996 MAGA Madera Chapter was chartered as part of the Central Council an affiliate of the State Mexican American Golf Association.
