Monthly Meetings

V-T Chapter meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month (if date falls on a Holiday, then we meet the following week). We changed the location of our meetings to Black Bear Restaurant, 900 S. Mooney Blvd., in Visalia. Members start arriving for a “no host” buffet style dinner at 5 pm, then proceed with meeting at 6 pm. In order for the restaurant to prepare for the dinner, we ask all attendees to contact me via cell phone or email.

January’s meeting will be held on January 8, 2025.

New Members

Newest member to join the Chapter is Enrique Ponce. He joined the V-T Chapter on 1/9/25. He is 25 years old and was in the Army, stationed at Fort Drum, NY. He is married and has 2 beautiful girls. He enjoys watching European soccer with his favorite teams being Barcelona and Chelsea. He’s been golfing for 3 months and is committed to be a better golfer. He joined the V-T MAGA Chapter because of all the great people that are part of the group.

Mercedes “Mercy” Calistro Obituary

One of Visalia/Tulare Chapter’s long time member, Mercedes “Mercy” Calistro, has gone to God’s embrace on May 25, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Mercy Calistro was a member of the Visalia/Tulare Chapter auxiliary several years before the Mexican American Golf Association welcomed women to become regular members of their chapters in 1980. Mercy became a member in 1980 and was a very active member of Visalia/Tulare Chapter, eventually becoming its first woman Chapter President and then the first woman Central Council Director, Mercy was involved in the California State Board also. Mercy will be missed by many. We give our condolences to her husband Joe Calistro and her family.

Services are as follows: Visitation/Rosary Thursday, June 12, 2025, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Miller’s Tulare Funeral Home. Rosary will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, 6:00 p.m. at Miller’s Tulare Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 954 South O Street, Tulare with burial at North Public Cemetery, 4462 North J Street, Tulare.
